“Of Rocks and Bullets: An Animated Discourse” is an experimental animated short that contemplates the complexity of Border Patrol violence in reference to the 2012 murder of Jose Antonio Elena in Nogales, Arizona. The following images are stills from the finished work and photos of the interactive installation component through which it was viewed.

Community responses were collected wherever this installation was shown. Over 500 unique, handmade responses were generated by this project. Each one was photographed and then compiled into this video compilation. The responses were then collaged together to create a series of projection screens to accompany the video.
